You give commands (ie: Mine Gold, Eat Banana, Build Raft) by selecting them from the Move, Consume, and Camp menus in the menubar. Most menu items have keyboard shortcuts.
Alternatively, if you click on the square that your player is on a menu will pop up. If you are in your camp the Camp menu will appear. If you are not in your camp, the Move menu will appear. If you hold down the command (ï｣ｿ) key while clicking you will bring up the Consume menu.
